Ordering Process and Export

How It Works

The 8 Steps

Buying from overseas should not feel like a guessing game. Here is exactly how an order works with us, from your first email to the day your stock lands.

01

Step 1

Enquiry

You contact us with your product interest, rough quantity, target market, and packaging needs. The more detail you give, the faster and more accurate our reply.

02

Step 2

Product Selection

We help you pick the right products and sizes for your market. If you are new to yak chews, we suggest a starting mix. Samples can be sent at this stage so you can check the product yourself.

03

Step 3

Quotation

We send a written quote. It covers unit pricing, MOQ, packaging costs, lead time, and shipping options. Air and sea are quoted separately so you can compare landed cost.

04

Step 4

Order Confirmation

You confirm the order in writing. We issue a proforma invoice. You pay the agreed deposit, and your slot goes into the production schedule.

05

Step 5

Production

Milk is collected, processed, pressed, dried, and cured. Production takes 7 to 25 days depending on order size, product mix, and packaging.

06

Step 6

Quality Check

Every batch is checked for hardness, moisture, weight, and appearance. Anything outside spec does not go in your carton.

07

Step 7

Packaging

Chews are packed into your chosen format. Batch codes and best-before dates are applied. Cartons are labelled and palletised for export.

08

Step 8

Export and Shipping

We prepare your documents, book the freight, and send you tracking. Balance payment is settled per the agreed terms before release.

Order Size

Minimum Order Quantity

100 kg

Standard MOQ per order

  • You can mix products within that 100 kg
  • 100 kg is a starting point, not a limit
  • Private label MOQ may differ, depending on packaging
  • First-time buyers can ask about a smaller trial shipment

Samples

We send samples before most first orders. Samples let you check:

  • Hardness and chew time
  • Smell and appearance
  • Pack size and finish
  • How your own dogs or customers react

Samples usually go by air courier and arrive within a week or so. Ask us about sample cost and shipping when you enquire.

Packaging Options

  • Bulk cartons: plain, food-grade cartons for repacking in your market.
  • Abiral branded packs: ready to sell as they are.
  • Private label packs: your logo, artwork, and compliance panel.

Formats available: shrink-wrapped singles, header bags, kraft and stand-up pouches, multipack cartons, gift boxes, and shelf-ready cases.

Shipping Options

Air freight

  • Transit: about 3 to 9 days depending on destination
  • Best for: samples, trial orders, urgent restocks
  • Higher cost per kilogram

Sea freight

  • Transit: about 25 to 45 days depending on destination
  • Best for: regular bulk restocking
  • Much lower cost per kilogram

Nepal is landlocked. Sea shipments travel by road to an Indian port, usually Kolkata, clear Indian transit customs, then continue by sea. This is normal for all Nepali exporters.

Export Documentation

We prepare these as standard:

  • Commercial invoice
  • Packing list
  • Certificate of origin
  • Ingredient and composition list
  • Lab test reports
  • Health or veterinary certificate where required
  • Country-specific certificates, such as AQS documents for Japan or an Export Health Certificate for the UK

Your own customs broker handles the import side. Most delays happen at customs, not in transit, so complete paperwork matters more than shipping speed.

Payment Terms

We usually work on a deposit at order confirmation and the balance before shipment. Terms can be discussed for repeat customers with an order history. Everything is agreed in writing before production starts.

Planning Your Total Timeline

Think in three parts, not one:

  • Production: 7 to 25 days
  • Transit: 3 to 9 days by air, or 25 to 45 days by sea
  • Customs clearance in your country: varies

Air orders often land in 2 to 4 weeks total. Sea orders usually take 6 to 10 weeks total.

If you are working to a launch date, tell us early. We will plan production backwards from it.

FAQs

How do I start an order?

Send an enquiry with your products, quantity, and destination country. We reply with a quote.

How long does a quote take?

Usually 1 to 2 working days.

Can I visit the factory before ordering?

Yes. Buyers are welcome at our facility in Thaiba, Lalitpur, Nepal.

Can I change my order after confirming?

Small changes are usually possible before production starts. Once packaging is printed, changes get harder.
